About the event
The mission of Beyond the Statistics: Supporting Black Women’s Maternal Journeys is to create a compassionate and empowering platform dedicated to addressing the critical issues of infant loss awareness, maternal fatality, teen pregnancy, and infertility among Black women.
Our conference aims to:
- Raise Awareness: Illuminate the unique challenges and disparities faced by Black women in maternal and reproductive health through education and advocacy.
- Foster Community: Build a supportive and inclusive community where Black women can share their stories, experiences, and solutions in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Promote Healing: Provide resources and support for emotional and psychological healing for those affected by infant loss, maternal fatality, teen pregnancy, and infertility.
- Encourage Empowerment: Equip attendees with knowledge, tools, and strategies to advocate for their health and well-being, and to inspire positive change within their communities.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Bring together healthcare professionals, policymakers, activists, and community leaders to collaborate on innovative solutions and policies that address these critical issues and improve outcomes for Black women.
Through dialogue, education, and collective action, we aim to move beyond the statistics and make a tangible impact on the lives of Black women, ensuring they receive the care, support, and respect they deserve on their maternal journeys.
